Chairmans comments

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all well and that you are looking forward to the new season?

The ground is looking better than ever, and after the winter we have just had (and still having) we need to thank Dusty and Peter for their hard work, cheers boys....

The Club House is spick and span as always, A massive THANK YOU to Sharon and Tony who both work very hard in keeping the club clean and the beer tasting great !!

I would like to wish Paul Barrow our 1st team captain, and John White our 2nd team captain, the very best of luck for the new season and the adventure that lies ahead.

I am also over the moon at the return of several players, especially my two good friends Mark Chamley and Andy Batty, I would like to thank all players for staying with us and new players for joining us after last years tribulations !

There has been a lot of work going on at the Cricket Club since the end of last season, and it was fantastic to see a lot of our members and their families becoming more involved in the club, at the Cricket Force Weekend.

I am sure you will agree, everyone did a great job in improving the club and ground, Thank you !!!!

However the work must go on ! There are still lots of jobs to be done, and we still need donations of materials.

I think now is the time to move forward and get with the job in hand. We all need to get together and, stick together like the big happy family we used to be. We need to put the past behind us and get on with the recovery of what seems a never-ending task.

The current committee is dedicated to this recovery, but we cannot do it alone.

We need you help in a number of ways:-

Please support any Club social functions,

Promote the Club as a venue for Birthday parties, Weddings, Christenings etc.

Use your contacts to attract New Sponsors to the club.

Any fund raising ideas you might have, let us know, even the smallest thing will help the club get back on its feet.

New players are more than welcome to join the club, so if you hear of anyone looking for a change, introduce them to the club, all are welcome.

We have recruited a number of new coaches to assist Garry for the season, which will include developing Girls Cricket with our newly qualified coach Rachael Chamley. We also have a few parents interested in becoming coaching assistants

I also need to thank Colin Weldon for becoming our new Child Welfare Officer.

If you have anything that you think could go on the website, please let me know and I will do my best to get it on !

Anyway, lets hope for a nice, hot summer and see some good cricket.

Lets not forget - we now have Big Screen TV for Football Matches etc. and with the World Cup fast approaching, where better to watch your team.

Should you require any further information please contact me on 07771427341 or by e-mail.

Hope to see you all soon

Best Regards

Stephen Devlin
